adamcareyAdam Carey is a Director-level leader with a proven and varied track record of helping organisations achieve strategic priorities and programme impact. His experience includes political, private and public sector management; and more than 200 regeneration and housing consultancy projects across the UK. Adam has also worked closely with Chris Khamis for nearly 20 years in a variety of roles and is joining CSK as an associate director where he will be available for management roles and consultancy projects.

From 2008 until November 2010 Adam was Director of Strategy and Community Engagement for Urban Living, the regeneration and housing programme in Birmingham and Sandwell. This was a chief officer post with accountable body Sandwell MBC and he led on business planning, research and community cohesion with a £3m commissioning budget. He developed from scratch a highly regarded community cohesion programme working with more than 150 community and voluntary groups.

For a decade Adam was, along with Chris Khamis, a founding Director of the regeneration consultancy, CSR Partnership. He provided the evidence base for strategic formation and evaluation of major regeneration and neighbourhood renewal programmes. In 2006 as Chair of CSR he managed succession planning including the transition to CSK Strategies and sale of CSR’s survey division to ECOTEC before joining ECOTEC as a Director where he managed major housing projects to 2008.

He previously served as a senior Labour councillor in Sandwell leading on policy planning and budget reductions in the early 1990s. Hs a longstanding member of the Institute of Economic Development with his academic links recognised as Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Birmingham University, CURS from 1998-2005.
