Anna Hraboweckyj and Leon Quinn run Artè Research, an independent consultancy in the West Midlands and South West. They specialise in assignments that bring the public sector and third sector together in partnerships, consortia or contractual relationships.

Ancer Spa

Ancer Spa is one of the UK’s leading development, regeneration and planning consultancy companies. It adopts a multi-disciplinary approach and specialises in the realisation of economic growth in both urban and rural areas.

CSK Strategies is part of the Ancer Spa team, leading on community and business consultation, for two Birmingham regeneration framework commissions:

  • A34/A41 Corridor including Sparkbrook and Hall Green
  • Washwood Heath

De Montfort University, CRÈME and MEECOE

Chris Khamis is a member of the core management team for the Minority Ethnic Enterprise Centre of Excellence (MEECOE) which is based within the Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship at De Montfort University, Leicester.

CSK Strategies forms part of the core management team of the Minority Ethnic Enterprise Centre of Expertise (MEECOE).  Funded by Advantage West Midlands, MEECOE is an exciting two-year project (Dec 2008 – Nov 2010) that promotes a strategic and innovative approach to supporting ethnic minority businesses in the West Midlands. A consortium led by De Montfort University’s Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship (CRÈME) and also including the University of Lancaster as well as CSK, MEECOE works with public and private sector stakeholders to enhance policy and practice for ethnic minority enterprise in the region. MEECOE works closely with AWM’s other Centres of Expertise to develop an integrated approach to diversity and enterprise activity.

ECOTEC

ECOTEC is an international provider of research, consulting and management services focused on the development, delivery and evaluation of public policy.

CSK Strategies has worked with ECOTEC on two recent commissions:

  • The development of an Economic Development Strategy for Urban Living, the Housing Market Renewal Partnership for Birmingham and Sandwell.
  • The provision of a Business Survey for Urban Living.

ECOTEC’s survey company has also worked with CSK Strategies to undertake two projects:

  • An evaluation of the interventions under the Local Centres’ Improvement Programme in North West Birmingham.
  • A residents’ survey for the Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder, Interlock! in Basildon.
  • A study of the use of the faith-based facilities that are provided by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust, Birmingham.

National Association for Neighbourhood Management

CSK Strategies is the Midlands Regional Partner for the National Association for Neighbourhood Management (NANM). We work with the Association to host Regional Events, run Peer Group Action Learning Sets, and contribute to their Study Tour programme. Recent NANM events in the Midlands have addressed the following topics:

  • Comprehensive Area Assessments
  • Worklessness  and the Working Neighbourhoods Fund
  • Working with Young People
  • LAAs, WNF and Neighbourhood Management
  • Community Cohesion
